The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW2022), Europe’s largest annual event dedicated to renewable energy and energy efficiency and organised by the European Commission, took place from the 26th to the 30th of September 2022.
The 2022 edition focused on the theme ‘Going green and digital for Europe’s energy transition’, and brought together public authorities, private companies, projects, NGOs and consumers to promote energy-saving initiatives and the promotion of clean, safe and efficient energy. Topics covered ranged from the REPowerEU plan, digitisation, energy efficiency and how to ensure a fair energy transition for all. This year, more than 14,000 registered participants from over 100 different countries discussed how research & innovation can help realise Europe’s priorities, both online and on site.
The event consisted of: Policy Conference, Europe’s largest conference dedicated to renewable energy and the efficient use of energy in Europe; Networking Village: an event offering participants and stakeholders not only the opportunity to exchange ideas, but also an excellent networking environment; the Sustainable Energy Awards Ceremony and the Third European Youth Energy Day.
In particular, the Networking Village was divided into Energy Talks and Energy Fair. The Energy Talks provided on-site participants with ‘knowledge pills’ on projects, solutions, ideas and actions in the field of sustainable energy.
The Energy Fair was a real fair where SMEs and start-ups, business and professional associations, networks of national, regional and local authorities, consumer associations, civic organisations, youth associations and many other entities came together to build social ties and foster knowledge exchange.
Moverim participated in the Energy Fair at the European Commission’s Charlemagne building with a stand dedicated to e-SAFE, a project financed by the Horizon 2020 framework programme which aim at promoting the renovation of non-historic buildings from both an energy and earthquake-proof point of view. During the fair, the Moverim team not only provided information on the project’s features, objectives and results, but also engaged potential new stakeholders, networked with partners of the other projects on display, and raised public awareness of the project’s cause.
